ALTER | HTV: “Excellent performance” in RFA (X-ray fluorescence analysis) – Interlaboratory test by the DRRR
23. January 2026

ALTER | HTV is one of the leading providers of services related to electronic components. In addition to testing and long-term conservation of electronic components and assemblies, analytics is one of ALTER | HTV’s core competencies. In its own accredited institute for material analysis, state-of-the-art equipment and sound methodology are used to perform production-accompanying quality controls as well as fault analyses, counterfeit screenings, and qualifications on electronic components, among other things.
As an accredited provider of interlaboratory tests, the DRRR (German Reference Office for Interlaboratory Tests and Reference Materials) is responsible for objectively and independently certifying quality and performance in laboratory routines. A ring test is a method of external quality assurance for testing laboratories, which is used, among other things, to calculate important precision data and to demonstrate repeatability and comparability, for example. ALTER | HTV performed excellently in the international comparison of the proficiency test for the ISO 3497 X-ray fluorescence coating thickness measurement method.
In ALTER | HTV own accredited testing laboratory for material analysis, layer thickness measurements using XRF enable rapid and non-destructive testing of, for example, solder surfaces on printed circuit boards, corrosion protection layers, chromates, hard gold plating on connectors, or layer thicknesses on printed circuit board finishes.
Disclaimer: The interlaboratory test took place shortly before the official merger of HTV Halbleiter Test- und Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH and HTV Conservation GmbH to form HTV ALTER TECHNOLOGY GmbH and is therefore still issued to HTV Conservation GmbH, but remains valid.
